Oreana appoints Head of Commercial Construction

As we expand our internal capability to deliver larger format retail centres, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Nicholas Corp to Oreana’s Head of Commercial Construction.

With a decade of experience in the industry, Nick will oversee the delivery of our $955 million GRV commercial pipeline as we seek to leverage the benefits of vertical integration as a developer with construction capability.

Oreana Managing Director Tony Sass said the commercial construction team was heavily involved in a range of major projects, including preconstruction of the $80 million Riverfield Town Centre in Werribee.

“Nicholas is highly experienced in commercial construction and will bring the right systems, processes and standards to support our growth in this area,” he said.

“His appointment enables us to expand the developer-builder model we have successfully implemented in our early education division, in commercial. By creating win-win relationships internally between these teams we’ve seen a lot of positive benefits.”

At Oreana we have more than 20 years’ experience in the development of commercial assets, from convenience retail to neighbourhood activity centres, recently completing the $70 million Kallo Town Centre in Melbourne’s outer north.

Nick is excited to build on our legacy of construction delivery and scale it to service our commercial development pipeline.

“It is rare to get the opportunity to build a new commercial construction team with a solid pipeline to start with. To expand this offering alongside such a strong and experienced leadership team at Oreana is truly exciting,” Nick said.

“Construction is ever evolving, and I am looking forward to introducing new technologies and systems to create an efficient way of working that delivers commercially for Oreana and culturally for our team.”

Oreana has a large portfolio of commercial assets in planning, pre-construction and construction phases. This year we received approval on five new neighbourhood activity centres across Melbourne’s growth corridors, delivering important amenity to new communities.

These projects include:

  • A $65 million centre at Brossard Avenue in Mickleham, which will include a Coles supermarket and 20 tenancies
  • The $80 million Riverwalk Town Centre in Werribee to include a major supermarket and 30 tenancies
  • A large $31 million retail centre at Bluestone in Tarneit to include a big town square and plaza
  • The local Warralily shopping centre at Ashbury in Armstrong Creek that will also include a childcare facility
  • The Lyndarum local neighbourhood centre at Epping that will include a service station and complementary retailers
